Culinary Section Of NYT Becomes Paid

Bad news for those who read NYT for a different purpose than exchange stock or politics: the culinary section of the site will become paid.

Today the popular newspaper announced that registered users would be able to see a restricted version of NYT Cooking and to see it in full, the subscription will cost $ 5 per month.

This step was taken by the editor after the audience of the resource reached 10 million unique visitors every month.

To promote a subscription to the culinary section, NYT will introduce a free 28 day trial during which users can decide if they are willing to pay for it.

Chief editor Sam Sifton noted that some users would be annoyed by this step, but promised to keep the cost at the level of a cup of coffee with a croissant.
